SERVICE DESCRIPTION:Promotes financial responsibility and independence of youth by building their basic money management skills. Teaches how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. Also teaches about starting small businesses and paying for college. Features the Teen Personal Finance Guide which contains practical tips and activities to help teens learn the important skills of balancing a checkbook, creating a budget and saving and investing for college and retirement. The Money Matters Web site, http://moneymatters.bgca.net, offers teens an engaging online tool for building their money management knowledge and skills through interactive activities, games and tools like a savings and financial aid calculator to plan for college.
ELIGIBILITY:Youth age 13 to 18.
INTAKE PROCEDURE:Call, walk-in, write.
FEES:Inclusive with Boys & Girls Clubs' $15 annual membership fee.
HOURS:Monday-Friday, 8:00am-7:00pm.
LANGUAGES:English, Hmong, Spanish.
