DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:Legal Aid of Western Ohio (LAWO) provides low-income residents with civil legal services, including litigation, negotiation, and community education. Special projects serve victims of domestic violence, senior citizens, and migrant farmworkers. Provides representation in a number of areas, including domestic violence and other family-related problems, housing issues, public benefits, bankruptcy and debt collection, education and employment issues, elder law, and legal problems confronting migrant farmworkers.

ELIGIBILITY:Determined through application process; LAWO can only provide assistance to persons who are actually experiencing a legal problem and cannot answer general legal questions or provide advice for callers who are seeking help on behalf of someone else; cannot accept traffic or criminal cases
An intake specialist will ask you to provide income information for every member of your household. You will also be asked other personal questions such as your address, telephone number, marital status, age, and living arrangements. You will also be asked to describe your legal problem. Once we have all the information needed, we can determine how best to assist you.
